Jude Holland

Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition - First Round Finalist

Jude Holland is currently continuing his study with an Honours degree, majoring in piano performance, after having graduated last year with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Australia, Conservatorium of Music. Jude has studied under chair of keyboard studies, Graeme Gilling, for around 8 years, and with whom he completed his AMusA and LMusA AMEB diplomas with distinctions in 2019 and 2020. Jude was home-educated from the age of 8, and credits this as being one of the main reasons for his love for and open-mindedness towards music.

At the Conservatorium, he won the 2021 VOSE Concerto Competition, 2021 Irwin Street Concerto Competition and multiple Waveney Wansborough Prizes. In 2022, he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in B Flat Major with the UWA Chamber Orchestra and looks forward to performing Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in August with the UWA Symphony Orchestra. Jude has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading performers of early music, including soprano Dr Sara McLiver, violinist Shaun Lee-Chen and keyboardist Dr Cecilia Sun. Last year, he played Debussy’s L’isle Joyeuse as an Australian Showcase performer at the Sydney International Piano Competition. In August of last year, he was selected as one of ten participants around the world to perform in a masterclass with Angela Hewitt in Perugia, Italy as part of the Trasimeno Music Festival.
