Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition - First Round Finalist
Born in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, I started my first piano lesson at 4 at Era Musika, Yamaha Musik Indonesia. During my time there, I managed to pass the selection criteria to earn a place in the accelerated curriculum stream and was selected to perform my own compositions at the prestigious Yamaha – Junior Original Concert (JOC) in Jakarta for six consecutive years. I obtained my Grade 5/Teacher’s Grade Certificate from Yamaha Music when I was 13 years old. At the age of 10, I chose to focus on classical music and was previously under the tutelage of Miss Jenni Halim.
I'm currently a second year student at Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, where I'm pursuing my major in Classical Piano Performance under the mentorship of Oleg Stepanov. Additionally, I've been actively engaging in various courses, such as chamber music and being an accompanist. Notably, I was selected as one of the soloists to play with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra at the QSO Studio for the Concertos Festival in August 16th 2024, playing Liszt – Piano Concerto No. 1. I achieved the Ruby C. Cooling Prize in 2023, and I was also chosen to be part of the Lunchtime series within the Piano Department.
I have won various LIVE and online International Piano Competitions and attended masterclasses with Mr. Alexander Sandler, Mr. Pedro Lopez Salas, Miss Eva Polgar, Mr. Adam Gyorgy, Mr. Tarin Supprakorn, Mr. Loo Bang Hean, Miss Dessy Pranowo, Mr. Anthony Hartono, Mr. Ian Goh, Mr. Boris Kraljevic, Mr. Yung-Jen Chen, Mr. Lee Yin Hwa, and Mr. Wojciech Wisniewski.
