LEV VLASSENKO PIANO COMPETITION
Audition and repertoire requirements for rounds and specified list
First Round Requirements
Recital of 50 – 55 mins to be performed live, at a time, date and venue of the Competition’s choosing, which must include:

Prelude and Fugue by Bach ( from Well Tempered Klavier) or Shostakovich
-
Virtuoso Study by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov or Scriabin
-
Classical Sonata by Haydn, Mozart or Clementi
-
Romantic Work(s) from the Specified List
-
and Own Choice of Work(s) if time permits
Semi-finals Round
A 60 – 65 mins Recital to be performed live which must include:
-
Major Work of at least 15 minutes duration
-
Work by an Australian Composer of Own Choice
-
Own Choice of Work(s) as time permits
Competitors must take note of the following:
-
Works performed in First Round cannot be performed in Semi-finals Round
-
All Works must be performed from memory
-
Changes to nominated repertoire may be made up until 19 May 2024
-
No change can be made to the nominated piano concerto
-
All sonatas must be performed in their entirety
-
No works for prepared piano are permitted.
