Program of Events

The Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition & Festival one of Australia’s richest and most prestigious programs for young pianists.

The competition provides an exceptional opportunity for Australia & New Zealand’s finest pianists aged 16 to 30 to compete for international recognition, future concert engagements and over $50,000 in cash and prizes.  Experience masterworks from the solo and concerto repertoire performed by the cream of Australasia’s emerging pianistic talent, culminating in a dazzling Grand Final Concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Carter.

Highlights of this year’s program include our Opening Concert with Piers Lane and the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, a solo recital by Ukrainian-American talent Mykola Suk, masterclasses with visiting international pianists, and five days of performance rounds by some of the most talented young classical pianists you’ll see this year.

All events will take place at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, from Sunday 23 August to Friday 4 September 2015

• A series of performances and masterclasses with internationally & nationally renown pianists
• Four finalists perform a concerto with the the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on the closing night, where after the prizewinners are announced.
